Eating Disorders and Obesity

Eating disorders are famously tough to tackle, and there's a good reason for this. Eating is one of our basic survival needs, and since the eating habits a person has developed—no matter the reason—have kept them alive, the most primitive part of our brain fiercely resists any change.

This programme offers a ground-breaking way to get around that obstacle!

It's well recognised that eating disorders often have little to do with the actual food.

People usually believe that deep-seated emotional issues cause the disorder, and that might be true... But with this programme, you don't need to spend months digging for the source of those feelings, because BWRT can quickly address the core issue!

The BWRT Eating Disorders Programme is a complete resource on its own, guiding you through every step of the therapy with clear, detailed instructions. A thorough questionnaire runs throughout the process, allowing the therapist to begin immediately without needing to ask all the questions upfront.

Scenario:

Imagine Sarah, a young woman struggling with an eating disorder for years. Traditional therapies haven't worked for her, and she's frustrated with the endless discussions about her past emotions. With the BWRT programme, Sarah's therapist can start addressing her issues right away, bypassing the need to uncover every emotional trigger. This approach helps Sarah make progress faster and gives her hope that recovery is possible.

Additional Health Benefits:

Beyond helping with the eating disorder itself, this programme can improve overall mental health, reduce anxiety, and boost self-esteem. It can also enhance physical health by promoting healthier eating habits and better nutrition.

FAQs

How many sessions will I need?

Unlike many common forms of therapy and counselling, BWRT often creates very rapid results.

I won't expect you to sign up to months of therapy! Following an initial, free consultation, I will recommend an approach based on the information you provide. For more straightforward problems such as fears and phobias, I may recommend only one or two sessions. For more complex issues, I will recommend the minimum duration based on my assessment and experience with similar issues. This ensures that you are not bound to an excessive amount of sessions; and will allow us to review progress before any agreement to additional sessions.

With the exception of sessions for fears and phobias, most of my clients have needed between 4 and 6 sessions - this can be considerably less that other therapies. For example, if you have Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), a programme of CBT will usually take from 12 to 20 sessions to be effective. The most complex issues can take longer to resolve, and sometimes a coaching process may be beneficial; however this is the exception, and you will never be made to feel that you must continue to work with me!

All packages include a full intake process, which is similar to a detailed assessment.

What makes BWRT Now different to other therapy providers?

All BWRT® practitioners are qualified and experienced in achieving great results!

What makes me different is my unique blended approaches and programmes, and also my personal lived experience. My approach distinguishes itself through a client-centric approach that prioritises your unique needs and goals.

Is this programme suitable if I haven’t been formally diagnosed with ADHD?

Yes, our programme is designed to help manage symptoms even if you’re awaiting a clinical assessment.

Do you offer discounts?

My fees for sessions and programmes are predetermined, and I ensure that I am providing the best value possible. The packages I provide include discounts of at least 10%.

Although I understand the pressures faced during the cost-of-living crisis, I only occasionally offer discounts. I occasionally provide a service on a pro-bono basis, however this is usually offered as a result of professional referral. My capacity to provide pro-bono services is of course exceptionally limited.
